Dan Gobillot's Bio

BIOGRAPHY

Working with concrete since 1977, craftsman and artisan Daniel Gobillot recently has been creatively shaping concrete designs for residential and commercial applications. He specializes in decorative acid-etching for floors, counters, sinks, and other concrete work. He has contributed numerous articles on his designs and methods to local and national periodicals like Concrete Decor Magazine, Home and Garden Magazine, and Yankee Magazine. Dan has also led classes at Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren, VT for the past 6 years on creating your own concrete countertops. Dan is committed to green building principles and the use of recycled materials whenever possible in his work. Aside from his leadership at Alpha Stone Concrete, Dan is a also a founder of Stone Soup Concrete in Florence, MA.

His portfolio includes the conception, design, project management, and installation of hundreds of kitchens, vanities, fireplace surrounds and formed objects over the past several years. In 2006 he was honored along with other designers and builders with the Most Beautiful Kitchen Award from Luxury Living Magazine.

Outside his concrete work, Dan has also pursued several martial arts. He currently serves as Shihan / Director of Northampton Ueshiro Karate Dojo in Florence, MA (formerly Pine Forest Karate
and holds Go Dan, Denshi Rank in Ushiro Shorin Ryu Karate USA. He also serves as Sensei/ Director of Matsuba Kan Iaido in Florence, MA. and holds the rank of San Dan in that discipline.

Dan’s other interests include bonsai, stick built furniture, cooking, sailing, coaching and instructing children. He has been married for over 20 years and has two children.

He holds Massachusetts General Contractor License #077988 and has also been a licensed Real Estate Broker since 1982.
