Concrete Countertops

TIMELESS BEAUTY

Concrete stands alone as the ideal material for design expression simply because its utility and durability are matched by its sculptural impressiveness. Now the infinite possibilities in this craft can be part of your ideal kitchen, too. Although concrete counters have been common for centuries in other parts of the world, only recently have modern designers adapted this craft to the contemporary kitchen. Concrete will take on a polished and precise look under the care of a skilled artisan.

The kitchen; warm, inviting and central to entertaining and everyday home life is honored by the skilled stamped signature of artisan care through a utilitarian concrete countertop as its central piece. A perfect surface for cooking prep, serving food, and even hobbies and reading- your countertop will establish the kitchen as the heart and lifeblood of your home.

The potential of this raw surface is endless; colored, edged, shaped, molded, and etched to suit your purpose and create or compliment the look and feel of your space. When properly colored and finished, concrete mimics natural stone or solid-surface material without being even closely reminiscent of a sidewalk or garage floor.

Imagine your kitchen as a stunning work of art that will endure over time and add value and beauty to your home where it matters most. Your unique countertop will surely become a conversation piece for anyone who sees it.

CHOOSE CONCRETE

One of concrete's greatest advantages is its versatility. For example, it can be formed with a void in the middle to accept an undercounter sink so you can sweep crumbs and spills directly into the basin rather than over a rim - unthinkable with a plastic laminate countertop!

Unlike granite or other stone options, the cost of a concrete countertop is based on the complexity of the form, the mold-making process, and the desired finish, rather than the size.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Your concrete counter is protected in two ways. During manufacture, a penetrating sealer is applied which soaks into the pores of the surface to help repel liquids and protect against many kinds of damage all while allowing the concrete to breathe and continue to harden over time.

Afterwards, a surface sealer is applied which repel liquids, causing them to bead. There are two basic types of care - general cleaning and a periodic application of a protective sealer. Mild soaps in conjunction with a soft sponge or dishrag is recommend while abrasive cleaners and scouring pads should be avoided so as to protect the sealant layer.Heavily used areas will show wear much like on a wood floor when it is time to reseal. We will help recommend a sealer appropriate for your usage.
